Carnival 2008 Inspiration!

Professional carnival artists held open public workshops where people who wanted to be in the parade took advantage of their creative skills, and used materials and resources for free to make their costumes and build giant structures for carrying in the carnival parade.

Carnival 2008 Samba Workshop

Members of the Congleton Carnival Committee, Congleton Community Projects were delighted to bring professional Brazilian samba teacher and choreographer Mariana Pinho to Congleton. Mariana has performed in front of thousands of people at Glastonbury festival, choreographed BBC program 'Strictly African' and has worked with bands and community projects including the London School of Samba.

The workshops were free, open to all ages and abilities and fantastic fun!
